A NORTHUMBERLAND pub will host a unique Scottish tradition on Tuesday, January 25.
The Northumberland Arms in Felton will host a Burns Night event with an adventurous menu combining traditional dishes with modern flavours.
Stuart Young of the Northumberland Pub Company, which operates The Northumberland Arms, believes the night will be one to remember.
"We have a fantastic evening planned to celebrate Burns Night and our kitchen team has truly outdone themselves this year with a really exciting menu," he said.
Entertainment will be in the form of a piper and a reading of the iconic Robert Burns poem, Address to the Haggis, accompanied by a wee dram to toast the dish.
For main courses, customers can take their pick from either the chef's take on haggis, neeps and tatties, which includes deep fried haggis, textures of swede and creamed potatoes, a quail's egg, and whisky infused sauce, or cullen skink, which is a Scottish soup of fish and vegetables.
The vegetarian main dish is a meat-free haggis and swede wellington, served with roast beets. For dessert, there is a choice of cranachan, a deep-fried Mars bar, or Scottish macaroons.
The event costs £40 per person and must be booked in advance by calling 01670 787370, with a £10 per head deposit.
