A TOWN council will be flying the flag of Ukraine at Hexham's cemetery to show solidarity with the country.
Hexham Town Council has purchased the flag which will be flown at St Andrew's Cemetery during the crisis.
Mayor of Hexham Derek Kennedy said: "Hexham Town Council has received many contacts from concerned residents regarding the Ukraine crisis.
"By flying the flag we wanted to show that the council shows solidarity with the Ukraine people during this terrible invasion of their sovereign terrority.
"Hexham has shown great charity with the Community Church, The Grapes Pub, Tyne Green Golf Club and Hexham Fire Station, along with many others, collecting clothing, goods and money for the refugees."
