A HEXHAM man has been banned from the roads for drug driving.
Kelvin Eckert (38) pleaded guilty at Newcastle Magistrates' Court on Tuesday (April 19) to driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit.
The court heard Eckert, of Hallgate, had been driving a Ford Transit on the A69 on January 15 this year.
A blood test showed he had 17mcg of cocaine per litre of blood. The legal limit is 10mcg.
He was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined £120.
Magistrates also ordered him to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £34.
