A CLEANING business has gone viral on social media.
Clean As A Whistle Cleaning Company, based in Newcastle, have gone viral after one of its videos reached an audience of 1.5 million.
Faye Mac, from Crawcrook, said her independent mobile business serves homes throughout the North East, but has many clients in Prudhoe and Hexham specifically.
Faye started her business five years ago focusing on domestic cleaning, but three years ago switched to biohazard cleaning.
On the more extreme side, Faye said she has had to deal with the aftermath of dead animals, lots of blood, and deceased human bodies, the smell of which can be overpowering and makes the job more difficult.
The business is qualified to clean homes after suicide or suicide attempts, decomposing bodies and animals on the premises, hoarders, and residents who are struggling with depression and are unable to keep their home clean.
She started filming before and after videos of the properties she was cleaning, one of which reached an audience of more than one million views, and said she wanted to reduce stigma around mental health issues.
"It was to really document and help people going through similar circumstances, and reduce the stigma around mental health and things like hoarding for the greater good."
Faye said she thinks the video, which was posted on Wednesday, May 11, went viral because it showed the reality of how some people are living in the modern day.

"It shows the harsh reality of the way some people are living, but it's really heartwarming to see the transformation which is great."
Faye said she wants to continue to grow her business and help as many people as possible. Since starting the business on her own, she has grown her workforce to 49 employees.
"The response has been really overwhelming and really positive, the phone hasn't stopped ringing."
"We've also been contacted by Channel 5 to do a documentary - we need to find 12 people who need our services and are willing to be filmed, and we will offer them free cleaning and Channel 5 will foot the bill for 12 people who are struggling financially."
Faye said Channel 5 contacted the business off the back of videos posted on social media.
"That's all I know so far, we've been Zooming but it's really early stages."
"I find (my job) really rewarding, I think it really does save people's lives and gives people a property they can live in. We've got a good relationship with our clients and we create bonds with people who are lonely and rely on us going to clean their homes."
