A LICENCE application for a new cafe bar at a former police station has been approved.
A planning application was submitted to Northumberland County Council towards the end of last year seeking permission to convert the Old Police House on Bell Villas in Ponteland into a restaurant. A decision has not yet been made.
But at a hearing earlier this month, the council approved a licence application submitted by company Skewjack 73 Limited.
The application stated supply of alcohol would be from 10am until midnight.

The cafe bar will also be allowed to serve late night refreshment from 11pm until 12.30am.
Ponteland Town Council and the Northumberland County Council Senior Environmental Health Officer (Noise and Nuisance) had objected to the licence application on the grounds of public nuisance.
Plans show that the main public seating areas and the kitchen would be on the ground floor, while staff areas and the toilets would be on the first floor.
There would also be an outdoor seating area.
