A CORBRIDGE drink driver who was almost five times over the limit has avoided jail.
Fay Watson pleaded guilty at Newcastle Magistrates' Court to driving with 164mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath on Hill Street in Corbridge on May 23. The legal limit is 35mcg.
The 44-year-old was handed a 12-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months.
Watson, of Hippingstones Lane, was also ordered to do 200 hours of unpaid work and to pay £85 in costs and a £128 victim surcharge.
She was also disqualified from driving for three years.
