A MAN has suffered life-threatening injuries following a two-vehicle crash in Prudhoe.
Shortly after 1.55pm today (Tuesday), police received a report of a crash involving a car and a HGV on the A695 near the Low Prudhoe Industrial Estate.
A Northumbria Police spokeswoman said: “The male driver of the car has serious, life-threatening injuries and the road has been closed while emergency services remain in attendance.
“Diversions are in place from the McDonald's roundabout and junction with Prudhoe Golf Course, and the road is expected to remain closed for several hours."

One patient has been taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) in Newcastle by road, a spokeswoman for North East Ambulance Service confirmed.
A spokeswoman for the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) said: "Our team was activated at 2.10pm to reports of a road traffic collision at Low Prudhoe. They arrived on scene at 2.28pm.
"We had a doctor and two paramedics onboard."
Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible.
