TRIBUTES have been paid to a 13-year-old boy after a body was found in the River Tyne.
Shortly before 4.15pm yesterday (Sunday), police received a report of concern for the welfare of a teenager who had come into trouble in the river near Ovingham.
A body has since been found in the water after emergency services attended the scene.
Formal identification is yet to take place but police believe the body to be the teen.
Readers of the Hexham Courant online took to social media to share their condolences with the friends and family of the 13-year-old.
Readers said their thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones.
Police do not believe there to be any third-party involvement and a report will be made for the coroner.
