AN Allendale artist is hosting a summer art exhibition.

Carol Davison is displaying work by the Corbridge Art Group in her Gallery in the Mill - a former smelting mill close to the River Allen.

The exhibition features landscapes, portraits and seascapes from the Northumbrian area and beyond.

The Corbridge Art Group, based in the village's parish hall, were tutored by watercolour artist Paul Stangroom in Hexham and then Prudhoe.

The group’s primary medium is watercolour, but works also use pastels, pencil, acrylic and oils. Many of the pieces are for sale and browsers are warmly welcomed.

Carol has hosted a series of guest artist and history exhibitions, alongside displaying her own portraits and still life paintings and exclusive works by Paul Stangroom.

She also has range of vintage and contemporary jewellery for sale.

"It has been a splendid first year in Allen Mills", said Carol.

"I am so pleased when people from this country and around the world visit the gallery.

"I’m planning on hosting visiting artists on a regular basis: it keeps the gallery fresh, interesting and varied.

"I welcome the input of ideas and plans for this lovely, welcoming space."
