The free 'Fun in the Garden' event will take place on Tuesday, August 2 from 12pm-3pm at Hexham Community Garden, by the old middle school.
Amy Hemmings, Grow Hexham co-ordinator, said: "It will hopefully be a place where people can come with their kids and have a nice day out without having to spend any money."
Transition Tynedale, who manage the community garden, and Hexham Youth Initiative are also supporting the event.
