Training is fully underway for participants of the Great North Run half marathon, as many complete daily runs and train in comparison styles to top world athletes.
Ahead of the run, thousands will be recording, tracking and working out the maths of their average to see what would qualify for a personal best.
But before you work out your own personal best, you might want to find out what the average time to finish the Great North Run is.
What is the average time to complete the Great North Run?
According to the event organisers at Newcastle City Council and Gateshead Council, the run typical lasts for four hours, taking into account the first and last runners across the line.
The average time to run the complete route averaging at 2 hours 12 minutes and 19 seconds.
So if you're wondering if you beat the average already or if you need to work a little harder to beat the average, now is your chance to work out how much work you need to do.
But there's no need to worry if you're not near the average, as the Great North Run is not a competition, with many taking on the route for charity fundraising or seeing how they compare to professional athletes.
