THE mum of an 11-year-old boy who was murdered has demanded his killer never be released.
Dominic McKilligan murdered Newcastle schoolboy Wesley Neailey in 1998.
Wesley had been riding his bike from his home one afternoon in June that year. His body was found dumped in a country lane near Healey weeks later.
Convicted paedophile McKilligan was jailed for life for the murder but had recently applied for parole after serving the minimum 20 year term of his life sentence.
Wesley's mum Liz Neailey told The Sun: "He is dangerous.
"He should never get out.
"He doesn’t deserve a second chance.
"He’ll do it again and I don’t want another family to go through what we went through.
"If the death penalty had still been around he should’ve got it. Wesley’s death destroyed my family."
McKilligan had previously been released from Aycliffe Young People's Centre, where he was detained for three years for sexual offences against boys in his hometown of Bournemouth.
He befriended and later murdered Wesley in the garage at his rented flat, less than a mile from the boy's home.
The Parole Board confirmed its refusal to release McKilligan.
It added: “Our decisions are solely focused on what risk a prisoner could represent to the public if released.”
