For many the Angel of the North is an iconic structure situated in Gateshead beside the A1.

It is a place to walk around and see the art work of the contemporary sculpture created by Antony Gormley, however, art is viewed in different ways and here are some tourists reviews on Trip Advisor, who did not think highly of the Angel or the site.

Reviewer 'KPG' commented on 17 August 2019, who said: "It could have been a lovely place to stop for a picnic but there are no toilets at the site. Such a shame.

Mike Spencer in 25 July 2019, adds: " I was driving past, and decided to go and see it, only because it is famous. I don't know why anyone likes it, the design is truly embarrassing and I think personally it ruins the famous design heritage of the united kingdom.

Another reviewer 'Jono' also comments that it is the 'biggest pile of rubbish' and not worth a visit, which member 'RE1234' adds: "It is a hideous piece of “art”. It is basically an eyesore by the side of the road. Not worth your time in my opinion."

Finally, Solo, also admits they cannot see the attraction but believes 'the beauty is in the eye of the beholder'. They said: "This attraction is a love or hate, and personally I hate it. Just looks like a plane crashed on it's tail! Was much enhanced when some locals put a Newcastle United top on it!
That said, I live local to this and many people visit, which always amuses me since I can't see the attraction, but each to their own."
