AN INQUEST into the deaths of a married couple who were killed in a crash at Simonburn is set to be held next week.
Edward Trett, known as Ted, and Heather McGregor, had been travelling in a motorcycle and side car when they were involved in a crash with a Mitsubishi on the B6320 just opposite the New Kennels in Simonburn in June last year.
Emergency services attended the scene and found that Mr Trett, 68, and Ms McGregor, 72, both from the Bradford area, had sustained serious injuries. They were treated by paramedics but were both pronounced dead at the scene.
An inquest is now set to be held at Northumberland Coroner's Court at County Hall in Morpeth on September 20 before HM Senior Coroner Andrew Hetherington.
