ORGANISERS of the Haltwhistle Walking festival promise there is 'plenty of craic' to drum up interest for their new taster sessions.
The sessions will run on Saturday, October 1 in Allendale and in Haltwhistle on Sunday 2.
Anyone interested in increasing their limits of walking on four, six or eight miles walks with the experienced festival team are invited.
Each walk starts and finishes at the same point but there are turnoff points at four and six miles for those wanting the shorter distances.
Catriona Mulligan, chair of Haltwhistle Walking Festival, said: "Walking is not only excellent exercise for everyone but it also offers an opportunity to socialise with friends old and new.
"Participants can choose on the day which distance to go for and festival team members will guide everyone back safely.
"It can boost wellbeing, self-confidence, and it is fun even when it’s raining.
"With some suitable footwear, waterproofs and a packed lunch, just go for it."
Places are limited and are free but you do need to book.
