THE North-East leg of Ride for Their Lives (RFTL) is to start in Hexham.
The awareness-raising rides aim to promote conversations and motivate action to address the health impacts of climate change and air pollution - particularly to protect children.
The international campaign will see cycling events run across the UK up to COP27 in Egypt, and are led by paediatric and other healthcare providers.
Cyclists are expected to gather from 8.30am at the town's hospital, before setting off at 9am on October 8.
The route will take bikers via Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care to the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Great North Children's Hospital.
The ride is primarily aimed at health professionals but others passionate about children’s health, air pollution and climate change are also welcome.
It follows the success of RFTL 2021 - a marathon ride of paediatric healthcare professionals from London to Glasgow ahead of COP26.
This year, RFTL will be shorter rides linking health care centres.
