A PARISHIONER at Hexham Abbey is relearning four long poems for a recital in November.
T S Eliot's last four great poems, the Four Quartets, take around an hour to recite in full.
Stephen Halliday, however, believes the only way to do them justice is to learn them by heart and be able to recite from memory.
Mr Halliday gave a recital of the Four Quartets in the Abbey in 2017.
He is now gearing up for a fifth anniversary repeat performance.
Mr Halliday said: "These poems, written in the 1930s and 40s are fully relevant in today's world."
The recital in the Abbey is free-of-charge to attend.
It is taking place on Tuesday, November 22 at 1pm.
