A DISCOUNTED will writing service has raised more than £10,000 for Tynedale Hospice at Home.
The charity and Gibson & Co. Solicitors came together in 2019 to offer a discounted will writing service.
Gibson & Co. Solicitors waive 100 per cent of their fee and invite clients to donate to Tynedale Hospice at Home in return for a professionally drawn-up will.
Over the last three years, more than 50 people have taken part in the service which has taken place twice per year at the charity’s head office in Hexham.
As part of the discounted service, a standard Single Will is £195 (a saving of £60) and Mirrored Will £275 (saving £125).
This is made as a donation to the charity.
Supporters have an opportunity to consider leaving a gift in their will to Tynedale Hospice at Home but there is no obligation to do so as part of the service.
Cathy Bates, Fundraising Manager at Tynedale Hospice at Home, said: "We have a longstanding relationship with Gibson & Co. Solicitors who have generously waived their fee to support Tynedale Hospice at Home.
"We are delighted with the uptake of this discounted service in the community and all proceeds will directly benefit local families who need access to Hospice care."
The last will writing day took place at the charity’s head office on October 21 with Gibson & Co. Legal Executive Louise Peacock.
Ms Peacock said: “Tynedale Hospice at Home offer vital care services for the people of Tynedale and we look forward to continuing to work with the charity in the future to raise monies for such a worthwhile cause.”
