MOTORISTS will have 13 road closures to avoid in Northumberland on the National Highways network this week.

However, all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows five closures already in place are expected to carry on this week.

On the A69, from 8pm October 10 to 6am October 26, there will be slight delays (under 10 minutes): A69 eastbound and westbound, Hexham, Lane closures for drainage works.

On the A1, from 9.30am October 20 to 3.30pm October 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 northbound and southbound, Belford to West Mains Stop and go for drainage work.

Again on the A1, from 8pm October 20 to 6am November 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 northbound and southbound, East Ord to Highfields, multiway signals for inspection works.

The A1, from 8pm October 1 to 6am November 25, will have slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 northbound and southbound, Felton to Newton on the Moor, Contraflow, lane closures, 24 hour layby closures and 24 hour speed restrictions for resurfacing works.

A further nine closures will begin over the next seven days.

On the A696, from 8pm October 24 to 6am October 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A696 North and southbound, Airport roundabout to Prestwick airport Lane one closure for road markings.

The A1, from 8pm October 24 to 6am October 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 northbound, Newstead to Wandylaw, traffic signals for lining renewal works.

The A19, from 8pm October 25 to 5.30am October 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A19 westbound and circulatory, Moor Farm, Lane closure for technology maintenance works.

The A69, from 9am to 4pm on October 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A69 Thornbrough Lane Bridge - slow lane closures in both directions to carry out combined structural inspection and routine maintenance.

The A69, from 7pm to 11.59pm on October 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A69 Haltwhistle bypass, one lane closed with traffic signals to allow carriageway repairs.

The A69, from midnight, to 5am on October 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A69 Melkridge, one lane closed with traffic signals to allow carriageway repairs.

The A1, from 9.30am October 27 to 3.30pm October 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1 northbound, Denwick interchange lane one closure for horticultural work.

On the A69, from 7pm to 11.59pm on October 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A69 Haydon Bridge Bypass, one lane closed with traffic signals to allow carriageway repairs.

The A69, from midnight, to 5am on October 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A69 Wharmley, one lane closed with traffic signals to allow carriageway repairs.
