"It was a great day and atleast 30 people came from all over the country," Terry said.
“Golfers arrive from as far a field as Aberdeen, Carlisle ,Middlesbrough and Whitley Bay.
"Hexham golf club in my humble opinion was the perfect golf course to kick start our new Manor House Golf Society.
"It has everything a golfer could wish for.
"It is such an interesting history as Hexham golf site was was opened in 1892 but only as a 9 hole course running alongside the river Tyne. Then in 1907 moved up the hill and expanded to the beautiful 18 hole 5470 yard course it is today.
"Some of the holes scenery are just so majestic and would match any major tournament on the PGA tour.
"My favourite has to be the 18th hole as it looks down the hill with a slight dog leg right with the fairway tree lined down both sides with some beautiful mature well managed trees.
"Additionally I really liked the well-built Hexham GC club house, as it had a very inviting sun terrace, to enjoy some very well earned refreshments”
"After the game, we held the golf trophy prize presentation back at the Manor House."
