HEXHAM MP Guy Opperman is the new Minister of State for Employment.
It was announced at the end of last month that Mr Opperman was returning to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), and the portfolios of the department's ministerial team have now been confirmed.
Mr Opperman's responsibilities include the labour market, addressing economic inactivity, and DWP benefits including Universal Credit.
"I am honoured to be asked to do this important job by the Prime Minister," he said.
In September, under Liz Truss's premiership, Mr Opperman was "relieved of duties" as pensions minister.
He had been the longest-serving pensions minister since the post was first created in 1998.
