The return of a town's popular festival has been hailed a 'success' by the mayor.
Hexham's Lantern Festival, on Friday, November 18, was attended by around 800 people who turned out to see the parade.
Crowds joined in the parade with their own lanterns and danced to music played by the Baghdaddies Cuban brass band, who led a Dragon lantern created by Hexham First School through Hexham's streets.
Hexham's Mayor, Derek Kennedy, said: "Hexham’s second parade was a great success.
"Lots of children brought their lanterns and followed the lit-up dragon down Back Street to be treated to a bubble snow storm from The Grapes pub.”
Jez Light, from Hexham Community Partnership, said: "We’re continuing our collaboration with the Town Council, Queen’s Hall, local businesses and the Abbey to bring the Christmas Lights, Festival of Flame and Christmas Market to Hexham over the coming weekends, so we hope to see everyone there!"
