Across the UK, England fans watched in anticipation of how the three lions would do in their first match in the World Cup in Qatar.
The world is watching England after their nail-biting final game last year in the Euros when they almost won against Italy.
Here in Tynedale, many decided to watch the thrilling game in local pubs and other hospitality businesses where they saw England come away with a win of 6-2.
Despite the win - businesses think it will be England's next match will be their busiest.
The Adam and Eve in Prudhoe was one of many pubs to show the England game.
They claimed 'there was a steady stream of workmen and diners' who watched the Three Lions take on Iran in their first match but they expect to be busier on Friday.
Additionally, The Fox, managed by Robert Newton, agreed. Robert expected it to be quiet despite the match kicking off at 1 pm as many people were at work.
"1 pm kick-off isn't great for hospitality," Robert said.
"It's been okay, it's not great but I was expecting it to be quiet.
"Hopefully it'll get busier."
He said: "Even a 4pm kickoff is better than a 1pm kickoff.
"With evening kick-offs, as long as England progress it should get better."
England's next game is against USA at 7pm on Friday, Novemeber 25, then they play against Wales on Tuesday, November 29.
