WE asked our readers where they would take someone who was visiting Hexham for the first time. Here's what they said.
Hexham Abbey: Janet Davies-Wild said: "The Abbey, it's stunning."
Maureen Gibson, Mary Toth, Linda Hill, Lesley Dickinson and Colin Appleby also said they would take first time visitors to the Abbey.
Alison Armstrong said: "The Abbey and St Mary's Church - well those two places are beautiful."
Kathryn Luna Vogel said: "The Abbey and the Old Gaol."
Independent shops: Kathryn Davidson Armstrong said: "I'd show them the lush independent shops we have. The Grateful Bread and Mr Wolf to name but two. I'd show them The Abbey, have a cuppa at the Queen's Hall, a cocktail at the Beaumont, and a walk on the Sele. Maybe round off with dinner at Bouchon."
Sandra Young said: "Artful shop on Battle Hill, my favourite shop anywhere."
Kat JL also said: "Absolutely would take them to Mr Wolf!"
Anne Palmer said: "Cogito Bookshop. Tynedale Hospice at Home Charity Shop."
Sophey Rich Ardson said: "Mr Wolf, the best toy shop in the north east!"
Chris McCullock said: "It's been many years, but there used to be an old toy shop behind the Abbey. When I was a child and visiting my aunt I used to go in there every weekend. I'd like to think it's still there, but I doubt it is unfortunately."
Tyne Green: Fiona Clark and Melissa Jane Irvin said Tyne Green.
Market Square: Julie Renwick said: "For a walk along the Riverside Park then up into The Abbey and along the quirky little street and around the market square where the Gaol is."
The Forum: Kelly Murray said: "The Forum Cinema Hexham to watch a film."
The Boatside Inn: Kathleen Forsyth said: "Cogito Bookshop then a walk along Tyne Green and meal at boat pub."
The Sele: Caroline Watson said: "The Abbey, the Sele, Market Street and the French restaurant. Onto the river bridge to look up and down the Tyne."
Roger Higgins also said he would take visitors to the top of the Sele.
Food and drink: Steve Wrightson said: "Small World Cafe."
Hilary Quinn said: "The Indian Restaurant by The Abbey."
Nick Goodwin said The Grapes.
Queen's Hall Arts Centre: Andrew David Robson said he would take visitors to The Queen's Hall Arts Centre.
Corbridge: Martin Jewitt, Chris Morrison and Joe Dee said they'd take visitors to Corbridge for a day out.
