ONE of Hexham's most popular events is back this weekend.

The Hexham Christmas Market will take place on Saturday (December 10) between 9am and 3pm.

There will be a host of traders, caterers, and charity stalls as well as musicians and singers outside the Abbey on the cloister lawn and in their rooms upstairs, including the Great Hall.

The range of goods on sale will include gifts, clothing, food & drink, jewellery, and home decor.

Rachel Ladd, communications and marketing manager at Hexham Community Partnership, said: "We are thrilled that it's back again and we are really looking forward to it."

She added that those who want a quieter experience should try to attend the event during the first hour.

The Abbey Christmas Fair, which will take place in the main church area, and Hexham Farmers' Market, at the Market Place, will also take place on Saturday.
