NEARLY 50 cribs from across the world were on display at a Humshaugh church.
Cribs from Germany, Africa and Switzerland all formed part of the St Peter's crib festival.
The cribs, one of which was 130 years old and another made by prisoners from Durham, were also blessed by the Reverend Sarah Lunn.
Churchwarden Chris Harding said: "A total of 49 cribs were on display in a whole variety of styles from modern to very traditional and in a variety of materials from traditional wood carving to ceramic and glass and even a set of knitted figures.
"Most people were amazed at the sheer variety of cribs and what they meant to their various families."
Humshaugh school contributed three ‘travelling cribs’, which go from home to home in the build-up to Christmas, and a display of mini-cribs the children had made on a recent trip to Simonburn.
The event will run again next year.
