Mark Cuban is a billionaire from the United States of America. He is also an entrepreneur of high repute and television personality.

He owns Dallas Mavericks in the NBA and co-owns 2929 Entertainment - and is among the stars on popular television series Shark Tank.

When Cuban has something to say about finances and investing, one should generally stop to listen. There might be some really good insight to gain.

In 2022, a single ticket won more $2.04 billion in the US Powerball - and Cuban had some sound input for the winner.

"Don't tell anybody. People will ask you for money, but if they are really your friend, you will already know if they are in trouble and you already know who you are supposed to help," said on a RealLyfe Productions show.

"If you were happy when you were poor, you are going to be really happy rich. If you are one of those people that were just stressed and never happy, money is not going to change that at all. I know a lot of rich people that are still stressed. It's not because they don't have a lot of money, it's because that is who they are. Some people are just stressed all the time.

"I used to be a broke guy, sleeping on the floor. When I got paid, I got really happy, really fast. When I sold Broadcast.com, out of 330 employees, 300 became millionaires. The 30 started too late to earn all their options. There were a lot of people that were happy and there were a lot of people you weren't going to be able to make happy, no matter how much money they had."

In terms of what the US' latest billionaire via the Powerball draw should do with their newfound wealth, Cuban had some more fascinating insight. One day, if you win the lottery, you might want to recollect some of these valuable nuggets of information offered by Cuban.

"If there is one thing they want, they should go get it. Right now, though, with interest rates up, they should put it in a treasury or a tax-free municipal and just let it sit there. Don't touch it. Just spend the interest. If you have two billion and you're on four percent, you're making $80 million dollars a year, you're good,” added Cuban.

This is not the first time Cuban has publicly offered advice to those who have won big in the lottery. Back in 2016, when someone $1.6 billion in the Mega Millions draw, Cuban told the Dallas Morning News: "You don't become a smart investor when you win the lottery. Don't make investments. You can put it in the bank and live comfortably. Forever.

"You will sleep a lot better knowing you won’t lose money. It's always risky to try and time the market and, if you go that route, you could end up losing everything,” said Cuban.

So, there you have it - some interesting opinions from one of the richest people in the world.
