TWO wildlife rescuers took time out of their work to give back to the community and spread Christmas joy.
Owners of the Pennine Wildlife Rescue in Carrshield, Jojo and Anthony Johnson, took some time out of their schedule of rescuing animals to spread Christmas joy around Northumberland and Cumbrian towns and villages.
The pair decided to dress up for the occasion as Santa and The Grinch as they delivered presents to youngsters.
The couple went to Alston, Allendale and Haltwhistle.
"It is the first time we did this by ourselves," Jojo explains.
"We used to do the Santa run with Allendale lions but that is not happening anymore, so we decided we wanted to continue to do it ourselves.
"We have received tremendous and continued support throughout the year from these communities.
"So wanted to give back.
"We have received tons of crochet hedgehogs from crochet groups around the country to sell on various markets shows we attended."
