Hexham Courant readers react to the news of 18-year-old Lizzie Scott who was selected for the England squad to play in the inaugural Women’s Under-19s T20 World Cup in South Africa alongside regional colleague Emma Marlow, the off-spinner from Harrogate.

The two graduates flew out this week ahead of the competition, which runs from January 14-29.

Kathie Keady started off the congratulations and said: "Amazing Lizzie. You deserve this for all your natural talent and hard work.

"Look forward to hearing more good news for you."

Jo Holmes followed close by and said:"Fabulous Lizzie, go get them!"

Futher comments made were by Sarah Banks who said: 'well done' and Katy Brown who wished Lizzie 'Good Luck'.

Helen Robson added: 'Go Lizzie!!'
