The region's favourite detective DCI Vera Stanhope, played by Brenda Blethyn, was spotted filming in Hexham and Corbridge in the summer of 2021.
And at long last, fans of the show saw the scenes aired when series 11 of the crime drama returned following a mid-series break.
In the episode, titled 'Vital Signs', Vera was called out to the scene of a body found in the back of a burned-out car - when it's identified, a world of intrigue opens up.
