THE A69 eastbound near Corbridge is currently closed following a crash this morning, bringing traffic to a standstill.
Police received reports of a two-vehicle collision on the A69 at Corbridge at around 9am.
A Northumbria Police spokesman said: "Emergency services attended and two people are believed to have suffered injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
"While officers have been in attendance, a vehicle has collided with a fire engine which was at the scene.
"The driver is not believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries.
"The road is currently closed while emergency services assist those affected and remove vehicles from the carriageway."
