A NEW drama which was filmed in Hexham will soon hit cinemas.
Blue Jean, a new film set in the North East in the 1980's, was partly filmed at the old Hexham Middle School building.
The award-winning film is set in 1988, when Margaret Thatcher's Conservative government was about to pass a law that prohibits the promotion of homosexuality by schools and local authorities. This forces Jean, a PE teacher, to live a double life.
The film, described as a 'slam-dunk masterpiece' by The Telegraph, will be released in cinemas on February 10, with its official trailer dropping this week.
