A PRUDHOE school could see two new classrooms built.
A planning application has been lodged with Northumberland County Council to demolish two temporary classrooms at Adderlane Academy, on the town's Broomhill Road, in West Wylam.
The temporary units, which plans say are approximately 40 years old and in poor condition, would be replaced with two permanent classrooms.
A restructuring of the school's office and administration entrance is also proposed, as well as increased parking provision for staff and visitors.
A design and access statement prepared by Saddler Brown on behalf of Wise Academies, the trust that operates the school, says the proposals will improve the overall visitor experience at the school and enhance the visitor approach and entry.
Parking could increase from six spaces to 11, including one accessible bay, if plans are approved, an accessible WC and shower and a corridor linking the new classrooms to the main school building would be built.
Three mature trees are proposed for removal under the plans to allow for vehicular maintenance access past the new car park to the existing playing fields.
The full application can be found on the Northumberland County Council planning portal online under the Ref. No. 22/04331/FUL
