A VET practice will move into larger premises later this month.
Alnorthumbria Vets in Ponteland will move into a new larger practice within Dobbies Garden Centre at Street House Farm, just under two miles away, on February 22.
The practice will occupy a new 3,313 square foot building, double the size of its old Meadowfield Industrial Estate surgery.

Alnorthumbria Vets invested over £1 million to relocate and upgrade its new practice. The spacious new surgery will house the latest veterinary facilities and equipment, including four consulting rooms, a cutting-edge operating theatre, an in-house laboratory, dental suite, and digital x-ray facilities.
To keep stress to a minimum for patients, the practice will have a spacious reception area with separate waiting areas for cats and dogs, and separate dog and cat hospital wards.
The new larger site enables Alnorthumbria Vets to increase the number of clients it serves and expand the range of clinical services it offers to pets. Its dedicated vets and veterinary nurses are excited about the move and having the latest equipment to look after the practice’s clients.
Its new location means clients can enjoy Dobbies’ dog-friendly facilities. The store welcomes pets, has a pet department featuring pet food, toys and accessories, and a dedicated dog-friendly area in the restaurant.
Amy Cotter, senior clinical director at Alnorthumbria Vets, said: “Our new practice in Ponteland Dobbies is a much better site with a superb range of facilities. It’ll mean that our colleagues will be able to provide the best clinical care for our patients and that we’ll be able to treat more animals.”
In the coming weeks the new Alnorthumbria Vets Practice will host an Open Day for local pet owners to view the new facilities at Dobbies Ponteland. Here they will be able to take a tour of the new practice, see behind the scenes and meet the veterinary team.
The previous Alnorthumbria Vets Practice was based on Meadowfield Industrial Estate, in north west Ponteland. The new site will work closely and complement the range of services already offered by Alnorthumbria Veterinary Group branches in Alnwick, Amble, Morpeth, Rothbury and Wooler.
