IF there is one dish that the UK is known for around the world it is fish and chips.
But where are the best options in Hexham if you fancy treating yourself to the iconic meal? We asked Courant readers on social media and this is what they told us...
Paxton's
Where? Market Place
The popular family-run fish and chip shop received many recommendations from Courant readers. David Brotherton described it as "lush" and Gav Muir added that the takeaway "has the nicest staff as well".
Sonya Wright added that Paxton's has always been her favourite. "I remember going in on a Saturday as a teenager sitting downstairs with fish & chips, bread & butter and a pot of tea," she said. "I still get my takeaway from them as do my kids."
