An MP was impressed by a local business during his visit to Northumberland.
Labour MP for Sefton Central and Shadow Minister for Business and Industry Bill Esterson paid a visit to the Egger factory in Hexham.
He was guided around by Egger Manager John Paterson. They discussed the challenges facing the wood processing industry.
Mr Esterson said: “It was fantastic to visit the Egger factory in Hexham. John Paterson gave me a great tour. His passion and knowledge of the wood processing industry was impressive.

"Egger is a great example of a forward-thinking company with a proven track record of bringing investment and jobs to places like Hexham.
"It was really good to hear first hand about the challenges facing the industry and I will use the information to inform the policies of a future Labour government.
"Working in partnership with companies like Egger will be a central part of Labour’s industrial strategy.”
