A political party is celebrating the success of a door knocking campaign.
Hexham Labour Party believe they held a very successful campaign day as they knocked on 1000 doors of residents who live in Hexham East on Saturday, March 4.
The campaign day was supported by Bill Esterson, Labour MP for Sefton Central and Shadow Minister for Business and Industry.
He said “It was great to meet voters in Hexham. They are worried about the state of the NHS, crime and many other issues. Hexham Labour Party is running an impressive campaign to get a Labour MP elected and I wish them every success. A Labour MP would make a massive difference to the people of Hexham” <Ends>
John Hanley, Chair of Hexham Constituency Labour Party adds: “The reception on the doorstep was very encouraging.
"Many voters are switching to Labour and keen to join our campaign to get a Labour MP elected in Hexham Constituency. On the doorstep voters are concerned about the cost of living crisis, the lack of investment in the NHS as well as sewage in our rivers.
"Voters are also worried about the impact of the new photo ID rules for voting, particularly on young people who may not have suitable ID. In our community there are really struggling and are desperate for a change of government.
“The parliamentary voting record our current Conservative MP also came up on the doorstep. I think the voters of Hexham are realising that Hexham deserves better."
