A FOOD delivery company is celebrating its tenth anniversary by giving out free food vouchers.
Deliveroo served its first order a decade ago in London, and to mark the 10-year milestone, Deliveroo is rewarding 30,000 customers from across the UK with a £10 voucher to thank them for supporting local restaurants on the app.
The £10 ‘thank you’ voucher is being given to 30,000 select UK Deliveroo customers to use on Monday, March 13 and March 14, so they can order either a meal from their favourite local restaurant or a supermarket shop.
Since launching in 2013, Deliveroo’s restaurant selection has grown from a handful of partners in London to over 60,000 restaurants on the platform across the UK and Ireland, offering a vast range of foods and global cuisine.

Deliveroo’s co-founder and CEO, Will Shu was Deliveroo’s first rider in 2013. 10 years on, the food delivery company has a network of almost 90,000 riders in the UK who are a vital part of Deliveroo’s three-sided marketplace.
Will Shu said: “I started Deliveroo in 2013 with a mission to connect people to the best quality food from local restaurants and deliver it directly to people’s doors.
"It has been an incredible ride and I am really proud of what we have built - we have partnered with thousands of the UK’s best-loved local restaurants and grocers, which has also created flexible work for nearly 90,000 riders. Thank you to our loyal customers for being part of this amazing journey with us and for supporting local businesses on Deliveroo for a decade.”
Daniele di Martino, UK CEO of Rossopomodoro, Deliveroo’s first and longest-serving restaurant partner said: “We joined Deliveroo on day one in 2013 with our Chelsea site. We trusted the project with good reason and couldn't be happier about this decennial partnership. Deliveroo’s platform constantly evolves, always offering the best service and support.”
In 2020, Deliveroo’s grocery offering was to support those isolating during the Covid pandemic, allowing customers to order groceries from partners such as Morrison’s, Co-op, Sainburys and Waitrose without leaving the house. In 2021, it expanded its grocery offering to introduce a rapid grocery delivery service, ‘Deliveroo HOP’ which delivers direct to customers' doors in minutes.
