A HEXHAM man has been banned from the roads.
Spencer Proudlock, of Shaftoe Leazes, pleaded guilty to drink driving at Newcastle Magistrates' Court.
The 18-year-old drove a Ford Fiesta on Crescent Avenue in Hexham while over the limit.
Proudlock had 53mcg of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg.
He was disqualified from driving for 12 months, which will be reduced by three months on successful completion of a drink-driving rehabilitation course.
He was fined £150 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £60 surcharge.
