At the English championships in Sheffield, Katherine finished fourth in her head race with a time of 8 seconds. She ran a time of 7.98 seconds in the semi-final, leading to a 14th place finish in England for her age group.
The school girl's PB for the 60m is 7.90 seconds.
She said: "All I wanted to do this season is go under eight seconds consistently and towards the end of the season, I did that; that was a huge goal that I wanted to achieve, so it was a great feeling to finally do it.
"To think that I could be racing my idols, such as Dina Asher Smith and Daryll Neita, in a few years time on the big stage, it's an amazing feeling and a lot of motivation to drive me forward".
The Gateshead Harriers & AC sprinter is planning to study sport and exercise science at college after she finishes her GCSES.
