A HEXHAM man has been handed a suspended sentence by magistrates.
David Cowell, of Ashwood Road, pleaded guilty to fraud by false representation at Newcastle Magistrates' Court.
The 47-year-old was given a 39-week prison sentence suspended for 18 months and was told to engage with probation services.
He was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £167 surcharge.
