A PONTELAND man accused of assaulting a police officer is due to stand trial.
Steven Pickering, of Darras Road, is expected to appear before magistrates in Newcastle on Monday (March 27).
The 46-year-old is accused of assaulting a police officer on November 26 in Newcastle and on the same day, assaulting a man.
At an earlier hearing, Mr Pickering pleaded not guilty to the offences.
