A RESTAURANT has announced it will rebrand its image which will take place over the coming weeks.
Eleven, a modern British restaurant in Ponteland, announced its intention to rebrand the business on social media on March 20.
Chefs Danny Land, Ryan Carr and front-of-house manager Stephen Pitfield opened the restaurant in May 2021.
The trio were going to work for a restaurant which was due to open in Newcastle city centre but when the Covid-19 pandemic hit, the opening did not go ahead.
With no other jobs going on in the industry, Danny, Ryan and Stephen decided to bring their industry experience together and open their own restaurant.
Eleven's statement on social media said: "We have some sad news, but some exciting too.
"As so much of the hospitality industry across the country is closing down, we’ve decided that it’s now the time for our heads to overrule our hearts and it’s with that we sadly announce the closure of Eleven."
The announcement was followed by the news Eleven retained its place in the Michelin Guide for the second consecutive year since opening.

"At the end of the month, Eleven's story will come to an end. A story that we felt was only just beginning to be written, but one that we are incredibly proud of nevertheless.
"We created the restaurant we always wanted to and achieved so much in such a short space of time, more than we could have ever dreamed of when we first set out. Maybe one day, in some shape, Eleven will be reborn, but for now, it’s time to say see you soon and not goodbye.
"The exciting news is we’re coming back in a different form, with a full rebrand and a new restaurant style as we navigate the challenges of the country’s economic rollercoaster. More on that in the coming weeks.
"To our fiercely loyal guests who supported us throughout the good times and the bad, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you. You’ve given us memories we will all cherish forever. But now is the time to make some new memories.
"Eleven's last day will be Saturday, April 1."
