THE Hexham Minister for Employment officially launched the first Levelling Up Impact Report for the UK hospitality sector.
Guy Opperman MP launched the report on Friday, March 31 at Travelodge in Hexham.
Produced by This is Purpose with input from Travelodge, one of the UK’s largest hotel chains, the report highlights key strengths which see Travelodge leading the way on the levelling up agenda nationally and regionally.
These include open recruitment, fair career progression and good health and wellbeing.
The report outlines the group’s social mobility approach for the future.
To support the launch, Travelodge announced its ongoing pledge to support colleagues to ‘Learn More, Earn More and Belong' with the following programmes.
The development programme called Aspire provides a pathway of development and career mapping for hotel and maintenance colleagues.
For head office colleagues, Travelodge introduced a development programme called Limitless, aimed at middle managers with a focus on good health and wellbeing being fundamental to drive team performance.
The business is seeking to expand its network with 300 target locations, stimulating regeneration, growth and supporting the Government’s Levelling Up agenda. For over 120 towns, it could be an opportunity to have its first branded hotel.
