AN HISTORIC event will be returning on Easter Monday.
THE annual Tynedale Point-to-Point fixture will return to the Downhills course near Corbridge on Monday, April 10.
Secretary Amanda Odd said:"Easter weekend is the busiest in the point to point season with more meetings than any other weekend across the country.
"We at Corbridge Races were delighted to learn that we had received more entries than any other northern area meeting so far this season and more entries than all but one other meeting across the country for this weekends meeting.
"There are 6 races, 5 are 3 miles over 18 fences and the final race is 2miles 4 furlongs over 13 fences. The final race may have to be split into two races due to the large number of entries.
"It is run over old turf and widely regarded as “the finest course in the north”.
"There will also be food, bar, hospitality tent, tradestands, open top Pimms bus, bookies, bouncy castle, face painting, ice cream vans, after racing bar and live band. It will be a great family day out.
"Gates open at 11am, first race 12.30, entry fee £15 per person cash or card payments, £10 for students and young farmers (bring ID) under 16’s are free."
