A CHINESE takeaway has been handed a new food hygiene rating from the Food Standards Agency, as shown on the FSA's website.
The Amber Takeaway and Restaurant at St Helens Street, Corbridge, was rated on March 22.
The business received a food hygiene rating of five.
It was rated good for hygienic food handling, which includes preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage.
The Amber was rated good for cleanliness and condition of the facilities and building, including having appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control to enable good food hygiene, as well as for management of food safety.
This means a system or checks are in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat, evidence is shown that staff know about food safety, and the food safety officer has confidence that standards will be maintained in future.
