CHARITY events raised thousands of pounds for various organisations at a memorial hall.
Events held in March at Otterburn Memorial Hall fundraised for the Great North Air Ambulance Service, St John's Church and Otterburn First School.
A collection took place for the Air Ambulance which raised £4,697 on March 29.
The fundraising cake stall, set up in the porch of Otterburn Memorial Hall during the Great North Air Ambulance Service collection, raised £102 for St John’s Church.
The Parochial Church Council (PCC) thanked those who supported the event, baked for the stall and the helpers on the day. The PCC thanked the committee of Otterburn Memorial Hall for allowing free use of the porch.
On March 30, a prize bingo evening, held at Otterburn Memorial Hall in aid of Otterburn First School and organised by the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), raised £1,020.
The event was well supported and offered some great prizes donated by local businesses, parents and friends of the school.
The school’s new headteacher, Alison Woodcock, opened the event, introducing herself and highlighting the extra-curricular treats and resources the PTA provide for the pupils.
The organisers offer sincere thanks to Billy Lewins, the caller on the night, all those who donated prizes and the Otterburn Toddler Group for setting up the Hall.
