Police dismantled a cannabis farm after responding to a suspected burglary at the same address.
An investigation has been launched after police found a cannabis farm at a property on West Wylam Drive in Prudhoe in the early hours of Wednesday, April 13.
Officers were originally alerted to a burglary and discovered a cannabis farm instead.
A spokesperson said: “Police received a report of a burglary at an address on West Wylam Drive in Prudhoe in the early hours of Wednesday morning."
Cllr Gordon Stewart adds:" Drug use destroys individuals, families and the wider community, putting cash into the hands of criminals.
"This positive and proactive action is another example of how such illegal activities will not be tolerated, this has come about after members of the public raised their concern with the police.
"I will continue to work with the police, partners and the wider community to tackle such behaviour.
"I would encourage anyone with information about this or any other crime to contact the police or crimestoppers."
