1 Bambi
The 1942 Disney animated movie was mentioned by several readers.
Kaye Johnstone said: "Bambi, and 73 years later it still brings tears to my eyes," while Ashley Harris also said this was her first cinema experience.
2 The Lion King
Chris Hughes said he went to see The Lion King at the Metro Centre.
The 1994 Disney classic featured the voices of Matthew Broderick, Jeremy Irons and Rowan Atkinson.
3 Jaws
Judith Bower and Sam Fung went to see Jaws at Haltwhistle as their first experience.
Released in 1975, the film follows a police chief, a marine scientist and a fisherman as they try to protect the residents of Amity island from a white shark.
4 Love Me Tender
Helen Gibbin added: "Love me Tender at the Gem Cinema in Haltwhistle."
The movie has four Elvis Presley songs, including Love Me Tender, Let Me, Poor Boy and We're Gonna Move.
The 1956 American musical Western film features Presley in his acting debut.
5 The Lone Ranger
Davena Parker said hers was The Lone Ranger.
The 1949 production was a television series which ran until 1957. A remake was released in 2013 featuring Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer.
6 Old Yeller
Jackie Kellie said hers was Old Yeller.
The 1957 American drama follows the story of a boy and a stray dog in post-Civil War Texas.
7 ET
Shirley Bryant's first cinema experience was ET.
The 1982 film is about an alien saved by a young boy who decides to keep him hidden.
8 Mary Poppins
Trish Rushton and Christine Murphy said their first trip to the cinema was to see Mary Poppins.
Released in 1964, Mary Poppins is about a nanny who brings happiness to the lives of a young family based in London.
9 The Lady and the Tramp
Nel Kingman added hers was The Lady and the Tramp.
A 1955 Disney musical about a pampered Cocker Spaniel called Lady as she grows up and falls in love with a homeless stray.
10 Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol
Barbara Carrie said her brother took her to see Police Academy.
A 1987 comedy, it follows the exploits of newly recruited civilian officers.
Also mentioned were Zorro, Born Free, Pinocchio, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and Star Wars.
