A VISITOR is touring Prudhoe ahead of King Charles III's Coronation.
The special visitor is enjoying a warm welcome from the community ahead of the ceremony on May 6.
A life-size cardboard cut-out of King Charles III is visiting businesses and seeing Prudhoe sights until May 5.
The tour was organised and hosted by The Manors in Prudhoe, an Extra Care scheme owned and managed by Karbon Homes.
Lauren McKie, scheme manager at The Manors, said: “It was surprisingly easy to get King Charles to The Manors for the week, we just ordered a visit online.
"When he arrived, our residents thought he was brilliant and that’s when we came up with the idea of taking him on a tour of Prudhoe, as a bit of fun for the wider community.”
The cardboard King visited Balls of Prudhoe Fish and Chips, Ready Steady Knit, NISA Local on Biverfield Road and Caffe Ginevra.
Lauren added: “As well as creating some fun content for our Facebook followers and our residents at The Manors to enjoy, we’re also using it as an opportunity to showcase the wonderful local businesses we have in the town through our platform.
"All of the businesses thought it was hilarious and it’s been lovely to see so many people getting some enjoyment out of what we’re up to.”
Residents at The Manors will celebrate the coronation on May 5 with an afternoon tea for lunch, paid for by a donation from Karbon Homes and topped up by residents’ funds.
There will be a coronation quiz and singer Ian James will entertain afterwards.
